The manager is looking for true DBA that has been a DBA exclusively for past 5 yrs (minimum) candidates should have strictly DBA experience (not someone that had a job title of a DBA however had many other responsibilities along with the DBA work.). Candidates should have seasoned exp with both physical and logical DBA work. The candidate MUST also have a min of 1 year of Oracle Portal admin experience and solid Oracle and OS [Unix-Linux] experience as well as you need to have listed and highlighted the technical details of what your experience is and what you have done with Oracle Portal as well as where you had the experience (not a overall technical summary). The details should be apparent on your resume with bullet points that clearly indicate how they supported Oracle Portal.
My client is looking for a Senior Production DBA to maintain and support the production databases. Candidates should have Expert-level knowledge and experience in the following: Oracle Server administration including: installation, configuration, and maintenance of ORACLE Database and ORACLE Application server using best industry practices with good understanding of the ORACLE Server architecture on both Windows and Linux; in the design, development, implementation and support of databases in ORACLE version 8, 9 and 10 with 1 yr Oracle Portal administration required; in the design, development, and support of high-availability features of ORACLE Server on both Windows and Linux; in the schedule of maintenance for the ORACLE Server to ensure that proper ORACLE Server service packs and security patches have been properly applied and be able to roll back, if require; in implementing ORACLE Server security measures in both ORACLE Authentication environment and in an Active Directory Window Authentication environment; in implementing database users, application users and other groups for ORACLE/Server in an Active Directory environment; in the automating of various tasks to minimize administrative, maintenance efforts and enabling a proactive environment; in hands-on experience in writing PL/SQL, Views, shell scripts, and NT batch scripts; in the monitoring of the ORACLE Server performance, user activities and resource usage to ensure that the database server is running at optimal performance using various tools. If required, tune the server and database; have a strong capability to identify, analyze and recommend solutions to problems; in performing database backup and restores; in planning for disaster recovery by virtue of experience performing database backups (including full and differential) and log backups; in designing ETL to support customer and business needs; in assisting the development team in the construction of software components supporting the target architectures as needed; checking data for reasonableness and consistency; in the installation of ORACLE Server clients on various workstations and to setup and modify ODBC drivers; in the ability to work with users to resolve issues, to possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team environment.
Candidates MUST have at least 5 years experience in:: Oracle DBA experience in version 8-10, and Application Server Administration and in writing PL/SQL, Views, shell scripts, and NT batch scripts along with 1-2 years in ORACLE Server security measures in both OID and AD and Oracle Portal 10g. The client would prefer candidates with the following experience: Current OCP; Experience in application support, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and Object oriented programming language, Working knowledge in MS SQL 2000-2005 and MS Access, in IIS and Apache and with a BS in computer science is a plus.
