Our client is currently seeking a Jr. Oracle DBA whose role is to support an existing Oracle based COTS application. Duties include performing database maintenance, technical support, supporting on-going application development, installation and upgrades of Oracle and COTS applications at customer sites. Candidate will be subjected to a security investigation that must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED.
Candidate must have:
• 2+ years Oracle Database Administrator experience
• 2+ years Technical Support Experience
• Excellent Troubleshooting Skills
• Excellent written and oral skills
• The ability to perform local travel (DC, VA, MD) as well as occasional long distance travel.
• Proven experience with Oracle 9i in a UNIX Environment.
• Proven experience with PL/SQL
• Oracle Certifications in 8i or higher
Experience
• Knowledge of Oracle 9i & 10g (ideal)
• Tuning and troubleshooting Oracle instances
• Building databases in different environments
• Installing Oracle on Linux/UNIX
• Writing and optimizing code in PL/SQL
• Experience configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC is preferred
• Knowledge in Oracle Backup/Recovery Methodologies and Strategies
• UNIX Administration knowledge
• Knowledge of Microsoft IIS is preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003
• Independent position requires excellent organizational skills
• Ability to communicate with upper level management on client site
• Handling periods of high stress
• Ablility to multi-task
**Job requires on call hours evenings and weekends and generally requires more than 40 hours per week.**
Education
• College degree or equivalent work experience
