Our client is currently seeking an Oracle Database Developer/DBA.
FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
- Develops and monitors the performance of production databases managed by the ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER to ensure their correct operation.
- Provides technical advice and recommendations to the ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER leadership and other ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER personnel for the correction of critical and unique database problems.
- Develops, monitors and analyses database's usage and operation.
- Adjusts, updates, and modifies the logical and physical structure of databases and associated system resources to accommodate new or changed requirements, rectifies problems, or enhances operations while ensuring automation security requirements are maintained.
- Writes scripts capable of extracting, reformatting, and inputting data into multiple databases using multiple scripting languages (perl, java, c+, c++).
- Develops and leverage ARS forms and connections in a tiered architecture to manipulate the flow of data to the specified server.
- Configures Mid-tier application server and Develops forms for use via web based protocols accessible thru a variety of web browsers.
- Responsible for integrating ARS Mid-tier with Web Service features to provide multiple capabilities to users world wide thru Web Service protocols.
- Develops and creates frontend applications that interact with databases and applications within the ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER infrastructure to streamline work methods.
- Loads new or changes software configuration, modifies systems performance, and creates file structures as required for operations.
- Develops and proposes operational policy, standards, and procedures for Army Enterprise wide systems.
- Provides technical database advice and information to organization and higher-level government managers.
- Represents the ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER interest in meetings and discussions with NETOPS/CND material developers, Program and Project Managers at NETCOM/9th ASC, HQDA, DISA, and other federal agencies to provide status report, present recommendations, and coordinate initial planning efforts.
- Monitors the fielding of additional database administration tasks managed by the ARMY’S NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER ensuring the logical and physical implementation can be supported.
- Ensures new database tasks are compatible with current tools and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Experience):
- Must be able to perform database design and management using Oracle.
- Have working knowledge of Apache web server and Remedy application server.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Oracle via OBDC, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Client Software Tools, Oracle Database 8.1.7(+), Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Discover, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Net8, Windows 2000/NT, X-Window Emulator, and Sun Solaris Unix.
- Be familiar with HTML, Java, SQL, SQL Plus, Unix Shell Scripting, and PL/SQL.
- Have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
CLEARANCE
-Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; current TS preferred with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
