| Job description: |
Database migration from Oracle 8 to Oracle 9. This is a production system that drives time capture applications for engineering fields. Resources. The applications and database have peak usage around end of week/end of month cycles, and the database is a large historical repository of information. /Currently implemented on a Unix Server (non-clustered?) hardware platform will remain the same for the migration effort. Consultant must have ability to drive a comprehensive analysis of the migration requirements, application compatibility issues, ability to drive detailed plan and execution of all phases – planning, development, test, validation and production stages. Consultant must have prior experience with Oracle 8 to 9 database migration, ideally have some DBA background and applications development background as well.
