JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform Oracle ERP Applications and Database Administration within E-Business Suite to ensure continuous 24x7 operation and availability in support of mission critical business applications within team structure and FDA compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Ensure continuous 24x7 operation and availability of ERP business systems and all interfaced systems.
•Lead support team of Oracle Applications DBAs providing technical direction.
•Evaluate, propose and implement new technologies to further system and process productivity and/or quality.
•Propose and develop strategic improvements in all technical areas of system implementation, support and enhancement.
•Develop procedures for and execute periodic DR site switchover.
•Design, document and enforce data security and disaster recovery plan with consideration for key dependencies.
•Plan and coordinate application and database changes, installation of upgrades, patches and new versions, interacting with Development, Business Process Owners and Infrastructure teams.
•Work with extended Infrastructure team to coordinate upgrades, patches and resolve any cross function issues.
•Develop, document and enforce application database standards and procedures.
•Develop DB and ERP infrastructure testing plans.
•System/database/application monitoring, query performance tuning, analysis and design, sizing and capacity planning, backup and recovery, including recovery.
•Collect and interpret trace files to identify database performance issues.
•Coordinate database cloning, schema, and table level data refreshes with business and support staff.
•Write/maintain OS level scripts (i.e., UNIX shell) for system DB maintenance.
•Work with cross project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks (e.g., network, storage, application).
•Provide on-call support.
QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCE:
•Should be an expert in all Oracle Application DBA related functions -previous experience in a 24x7 HA environment a must. Experience in Oracle E-Business Suite for ERP is mandatory!
•Experience with configuration of Oracle e-Business Stack 11.5.10/9iAS/10gDB in a multi-tier RAC environment.
•Expert in Oracle 9i/10g RDBMS and Oracle RAC.
•Strong skills with all Oracle "ad" tools and utilities for managing Oracle Applications.
•Experience with Disaster Recovery design, implementation and testing using DataGuard or other DR replication tools
•Experience with PL/SQL and database concepts.
•Experience with UNIX/LINUX/AIX configuration, remote boot, monitoring and logging.
•Experience with UNIX/LINUX/AIX trouble shooting and security.
•Strong UNIX/LINUX/AIX OS and scripting skills.
•Strong DB and Applications performance tuning and trouble shooting skills.
•Experience with Backup/Restore Tools such as Veritas Netbackup.
•Experience with SAN and Replication tools such as EMC, BCV and SRDF
•Team player who has a customer focus and excels at bringing their professionalism and expertise to the team.
•Ability to initiate a project and follow it through to conclusion.
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Ability to work effectively in a fast paced implementation environment.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Experience with Monitoring Tools such as OEM, Mercury Interactive, Quest, etc. a plus.
•EMC SAN integration is a plus
•Experience with 10g Grid control is a plus
•Experience with Application load balancers like F5 Big IP is a plus.
EDUCATION/SPECIAL TRAINING:
•BS Computer Science; 10 years systems administration experience.
