Position Title: Senior System Software Engineer - Database Administrator
Position Location: Louisville, KY
Scope:
Provide systems design, implementation, and support for the Brown-Forman technology infrastructure both domestic and internationally. Infrastructure includes Message and Mobility solutions, Application & Systems software, data center, information security, and 24x7 operations support for approximately 2,800 employees. Supports an annual department operating expense budget in excess of $15 million and $3-$5 million in capital spending.
Basic Function:
Perform Oracle Database Administration which includes; creation and maintenance of all Oracle database instances and software, performance, tuning and monitoring of databases, backup and recovery procedure maintenance. Disaster recovery testing using Oracles RMAN. Perform analytical, procedural, and diagnostic processes aimed at designing, implementing, documenting, and supporting infrastructure technologies. Provide multi-level systems software support for implemented applications and systems. Systems software includes operating systems and utilities, database software, system administration/monitoring software, and application system software. Following TSG project lifecycle methodology, lead multiple simultaneous technology infrastructure projects.
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field plus four years applicable experience; or an Associates Degree with five years applicable experience; or eleven years combined related education/experience.
