The basic function of this position is to research, analyze, maintain, recommend, implement, and administer databases. Incumbent will make modifications respective of tuning Oracle for optimum performance. Maintain and assign users’ passwords and privileges to Oracle production, training, development, and quality assurance databases and tables. Develop and install new databases and tables, support functionality and system availability with knowledge of enhanced system performance. Install all database software upgrades, maintain backup procedures and ensure database for business resumption plans and contingencies. Act as an advisor to all of Applications Development staff for questions on SQL, database design, and database performance issues. Research and maintain knowledge of new and current information as it pertains to Oracle and database utilities.
Minimum three (3) years experience in the field of application development/database administration with strong SQL experience and familiarity with Unix environments required.
Minimum one (1) year experience working with or being responsible for a production Oracle database in a DBA capacity.
Extensive database capacity and performance planning skills.
Knowledge of database administration and methodologies required.
