Job Description:
Software professional to perform systems and application analysis, design and development for CORE IT to support Jave and J2EE based Applications in the Corporate Reference Data domain. This includes gathering business requirements in coordination with the Business Analyst, transforming them into technical specifications including data design and application design. Based on these technical specifications, you will develop and unit test software modules as assigned. You will work closely with business staff, architects, SQA and others to ensure that project schedules are met with a high level of quality. Level of responsibility will be commensurate with salary grade.
You will be responsible for:
- Java GUI Application Development with SWING
- J2EE development and design
- Production support
- "Backend" development, e.g., Creating / Updating Sybase stored procedures and batch processing
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with the design, development and maintenance of Java SWING Applications
- 3 years of experience with the design, development and maintenance of J2EE Applications with STRUTS, JSP, XML, EJB and HTML
- 3 years of Relational Database Programming experience, preferably on Sybase
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming fundamentals.
- Experience with UNIX programming including writing shell scripts.
- Experience in pefroming Business and System Analysis
- Understanding of the Rational Unified Process, UML, XML and related concepts
- Strong interpersonal/communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with members of other departments in order to understand their requirements and provide support.
- Must be goal oriented and able to work independently.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to work cooperatively with development peers and SQA.
Skills Desired:
- Application server experience, preferably BEA Weblogic.
- Experienced in creation of Unified Modeling Language (UML) artifacts.
- Experience with the Rational Unified Process.
- Experience with Rational ClearCase.
