A leading international financial software firm needs PL/SQL Oracle Developers to join an established development team and contribute to the efforts across the full development life-cycle of their systems.
This global company has been expanding into various segments of financial services sector, offering unlimited potential for further growth and exposure to various sides of banking and finance, combined with a good company culture. Friendly and sociable, but busy, very professional, with a wealth of business and technical experience on the team - including the original Designer builders of the system. Smart offices in the City, walk-able from most tubes and mainline stations. This is a great chance to join a market leader building and supporting sophisticated Investment Management systems. The Retail Funds Administration system (Unit Trusts, PEPs, ISAs) was developed on a Unix, Oracle platform for major investment institutions.
You will design, implement and deliver new and enhanced product functionality; provide support and service to customers; initiate, lead and participate in projects; contribute to the firm's continuous improvement programme and be involved in other duties as necessary.
The successful candidate will have strong Oracle 10g development skills and experience with bias towards PL/SQL and Oracle Developer Suite and previous experience of effective delivery in a busy, multi-tasking environment. This role will involve facing banking / financial clients, so confident social and communication skills at all levels are important. Previous experience in the UK financial sector is highly desirable. Good knowledge of XML, HTML along with some Java, UNIX/Linux Shell scripting will also be very helpful in securing this post.
