Eaga Group are a rapidly growing UK based organisation (£500M turnover) with an Indian operation based in Kolkata. Eaga's business operations utilise the Oracle eBusiness Suite supplemented with a number of custom developed integrated Java portals. We have a multi-million pound datacentre in the UK and a brand new purpose built office in Kolkata. We are in the process of recruiting a high quality Indian based development team to undertake project based work across the Eaga Group. The UK based team consists of 20 highly qualified Oracle resources and we are supplementing this with a team based in Kolkata. We are looking for ambitious and experienced Oracle specialists who can hit the ground running and add value from day one.
The UK and Indian based teams will work closely together and there may be an initial period of secondment to the UK to get up to speed with Eaga's infrastructure and implementation methods and to bond with the UK team. This is an exciting opportunity to be "in at the ground floor" as part of a world class IT organisation serving a massively expanding business operation.
The Oracle Practice Manager will report to the General Manager – IT and will take overall responsibility for all aspects of Eaga Energy India’s Oracle Practice, including commercial and technical responsibility. The practice will provide best of breed software development and support services for the Eaga Group of companies in the UK and to external clients.
The post-holder will be responsible for the recruitment, engagement and retention of highly skilled resources to provide these services. Full lifecycle from pre-sales, through analysis and design to build, test and on-going support will be covered.
This is a strategic position for an experienced Oracle specialist and a ‘self starter’ to lead a team delivering business solutions to the Eaga Group, with many exciting opportunities available as the Eaga Group expands.
This post will be based at Eaga Energy India’s prestigious Millennium City offices in Kolkata with flexible assignments to the UK as required.
The post holder will be responsible for the definition of technical solutions (both bespoke and package-integrated) to meet the functional and information requirements of existing and future applications across the Eaga Group and for external clients and will also be responsible for Oracle based application development supporting Eaga’s strategic business objectives, whilst providing expertise in the complete software development lifecycle (from concept and design, to testing and deployment).
Essential skills and experience include:
•Experience of the full project/development life cycle is essential (on at least 5 major projects), together with a minimum of 10 years experience in the design and development of IT projects implemented using Oracle technologies
•Extensive experience of Oracle eBusiness Suite (11i) integration and customisation, including Financials/purchasing and CRM (at least 5 years)
•Proven track record with excellent hands-on application architecture design and implementation experience including knowledge of design patterns/frameworks, data models and component-oriented solutions
•Significant experience of Oracle8i/9i/10g Database and Application Server products, including very strong SQL and PL/SQL database skills
•Significant real world IT development exposure (5 years plus) at a blue-chip delivery/consultancy focused organisation (e.g. Oracle Corp, Accenture, etc)
