We are seeking an Oracle Applications DBA to join our Managed Services division.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
Experience in Oracle Applications 11i architecture, database and system administration, including hands-on ability.
Extensive experience in complex environment management to support multiple, concurrent Oracle Applications implementations and custom application implementations.
Strong ability to participate in pre-sales activities including but not limited to writing proposals, writing assessment documents, participating in pre-sales meetings, etc.
Strong ability to create written system and environment plans and manage other DBAs and SysAdmins against those plans including communication and coordination with other project managers leading the concurrent implementations and IT management.
Strong "best practices" experience and philosophy in SOPs including but not limited to security, patch management, testing support and be able to lead by example, mentor other DBA and SysAdmins to follow, and enforce.
Experience with Oracle 9iAS, particularly Portal/SSO and its integration with Oracle Applications and other custom applications.
System-level experience with Linux platform a plus.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
Install and maintain relational database and supporting software.
Design, implement, test, and maintain logical and physical databases and their associated objects and structures.
Design and assist with capacity planning, sizing, and space management.
Write programs in an appropriate administrative language for the purpose of data loading, unloading, and other manipulation.
Write database programs in an appropriate administrative language for the purpose of automating processes and supporting applications.
Design, develop, document, and validate database backup and recovery plans in accordance with the business requirements.
Provide user-level system services such as setting up accounts, assigning passwords, and setting privileges.
Maintain database system and account security through the use of established procedures, promptly report any breaches.
Create end-user database system operation documentation and training materials.
Monitor database system and application performance including its integration with operating system usage, corrects and tunes abnormalities.
Provide technical support by troubleshooting and resolving database system and related operating system, and application problems.
Research, evaluate, and document recommendations on database systems and applications to meet business requirements.
Maintain a current knowledge of database systems, related networking technologies, operating systems, and applications.
This is a full time permanent position with Business & Decision and includes a complete benefits package, paid time off and a matching 401k. Travel is required with this position.
