Purpose:
1. Champion for using applications and related technology to enable and drive marketing information innovation
2. Catalyst for convergence of US Systems technologies, platforms and environments for optimal simplicity, flexibility, agility and cost
3. Technical thought leader for the US Systems architect and analyst community
4. Integrate ACNielsen US Systems technology directions with other technology and business communities across VNU
Scope:
1. High level directions for all applications, systems, data and technology delivered by US Systems
2. Architectures and standards for all applications, systems, data and technology delivered by US Systems
3. Business alignment and technical compliance of all applications, systems, data and technology delivered by US Systems
4. Manages 2-3 direct reports including technical architects
5. Manages budget for Technical Strategy Department.
Requirements:
1. Experience (Required)
• 15+ years of progressive technical responsibility
• 10+ years of hands-on applications engineering
• 5+ years of management/supervision experience
• 3+ years of technical strategy development
• Exposure to multiple platforms including, at a minimum, mainframe and mid-range environments
2. Skills (Required)
• Intuitive, visionary thinker on application of IT to business opportunities
• Development of IT strategies that are well aligned with business objectives
• Development of application architectures that are comprehensive, coherent, and realistic
• Articulation of complex technical capabilities and constraints for non-technical audiences
• Generation of clear and persuasive written and verbal communications for all levels of audiences including technical staff and business executives
• Technical leadership across departments
• Management of technical staff 3. Education (Required)
• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical field (Preferred)
• Advanced degree in either technical or business fields
