Responsible for the overall Oracle systems architecture concerning databases and computing environments from the client to middle tiers to database servers, including systems integration. Function as both production and development DBA. Develop and implement plans for providing reliable, recoverable and scalable databases/computing environments to store and integrate all company data. Develops and maintains security controls for all databases, and performance tuning to Oracle 11i e-Business Suite. Diagnose and resolve Application related problems (i.e.: Workflow errors, application anomalies. Contribute to strategic direction of DBA work activities and projects. Defines and prioritizes projects. Sets the direction and plans the future DBA work activities. Provides technical direction and mentors all DBA staff members. Installs and upgrades database server software and application tools. (Database servers: Oracle). Proficiency in Java enabled databases. Develops plans for future storage requirements of the Oracle 11i Suite. Implements and audits primary database storage structure, (tablespaces), and primary objects (tables, views and indexes) for newly designed software applications. Ensures Systems Analysts can use the new software applications within the storage structures/primary objects. Controls and monitors user access to databases and maintains systems security within the Oracle eBusiness Suite model. Develops and defines security procedures for the Application Account Administration. Monitors and optimizes the performance of database, SQL and PL/SQL code with developers. Ability to write and maintain complex UNIX scripts. Develops disaster recovery and fail over plans. Ensures all data can be recovered in the event of systems failures. Creates data archival solutions when Systems Analysts submit defined data retention requirements. Ensure compliance with vendor license agreements. Contacts/interfaces with vendors for technical support as necessary. You will have strong experience working on an AIX, IBM FastT SAN storage and pSeries hardware.
Experience Requirements:
Six plus years Oracle DBA experience that includes at least five years Oracle 11i Apps DBA experience and two years of 11.5.9 experience required
Skills Requirements:
Must have thorough knowledge of Oracle Workflow and be able to write, review and troubleshoot SQL and Unix scripts. Must have extensive experience Installing, cloning, patching and upgrading Oracle 11i. Must have thorough knowledge of Oracle 11i configuration as well as Oracle setup in a load-balanced environment. Must be familiar with database failover configurations and implementation. Must have thorough knowledge of Oracle’s Dataguard and RMAN. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet project deadlines and work under pressure. Management skills/abilities necessary - must be able to serve as technical lead and mentor lower level DBA staff. On-call support will be necessary. Minimum travel will be required. Must have strong customer services skills
